About This Course
Very little is as stressful as a difficult financial situation. Acquiring a large amount of debt can be a source of great anxiety and worry for many people. Debt will keep you from reaching your financial goals, like saving for retirement or for home down payment, causing you to regret the limits debt has placed on your life and to be in constant worry about your finances. Fortunately, debt isn’t a life sentence. You can – and should – make getting rid of debt a priority.
This course is designed to help you get started on the road to becoming debt free. There is a lot of information available about debt and debt management, perhaps even too much information. The course attempts to simplify much of that information moving it from theoretical ideas to actual implementation. The course will teach you good debt management practices and give you helpful tips for preventing and alleviating debt. You will get the tools you need to help you take steps now that will make a difference to your position.
There are varied reasons why people put off dealing with their debt position. Perhaps you don’t feel ‘able’ to get free of debt. You may be thinking, ‘I’m too deep into debt to break free’. Maybe you simply do not know where to start and have many questions about the process: Which debts should be paid off first? How much should you pay each month to get out of debt? Is the minimum payment enough? How long will it take? Will it be hard?’ The goal of this course is to help you get started and alleviate some of those worries. One of the most important steps is simply starting the process – it is neither too early nor too late for you to begin. The course breaks down debt management into different modules, with each module building on the last.
- You will then get a final word under ‘Your marching orders’ after which you will undertake the final course assessment.
